The Police of Paraguay arrested Germán Sergio Atienza Benítez, nicknamed "Anteojito", wanted for homicide and aggravated robbery. He was apprehended in San Juan del Paraná and will face serious charges.

The Police of Paraguay arrested Germán Sergio Atienza Benítez, nicknamed "Anteojito," in a joint operation with agents from the La Matanza Investigation Directorate (DDI). Following a red alert from Interpol, they were able to locate him in San Juan del Paraná, Itapúa, Paraguay.

"Anteojito" had been heavily sought by authorities. It was discovered that he was using a false identity and worked in the transportation of packages to make a living. With the appropriate judicial authorization, his arrest was carried out and he will be transferred to the DDI La Matanza to be interrogated by prosecutor Andrea Palin from Prosecutor's Office 9.

In addition to murder, Atienza Benítez faces charges of aggravated robbery with a firearm, perpetrated in a group and under the modality of "home invasion," in the context of an illicit association. The man, who is of Paraguayan nationality, was wanted for having killed Jennifer Campos, a 13-year-old girl in January 2024 in the Virrey del Pino neighborhood, La Matanza.

The crime occurred when three criminals entered the girl's home with the intention of robbery. As a result of this criminal act, Jennifer received a gunshot wound to the chest that cost her life, leaving her family marked by tragedy. For these crimes, the accused could face a sentence of up to 25 years in prison.

Investigators discreetly tracked "Anteojito" until confirming his location and proceeding with his capture.
